MeetWing Privacy Policy — Google Calendar data

MeetWing privacy policy for Google OAuth: calendar.readonly access for upcoming meetings only; local storage; no sale or ad sharing; Limited Use; retention and deletion via disconnect or uninstall.

How MeetWing accesses, uses, stores, shares, protects, and deletes Google Calendar user data (calendar.readonly). Tokens and events stay on your device.

Who we are

MeetWing is a free desktop app for macOS and Windows published by shipwithajay (Ajay Kumar Choudhary). This Privacy Policy explains how MeetWing accesses, uses, stores, shares, protects, and deletes Google user data when you choose to connect Google Calendar. It also covers Calendly and personal reminders you create in the app. Contact: support@shipwithajay.com. App homepage: https://shipwithajay.com/products/meetwing. This policy: https://shipwithajay.com/products/meetwing/privacy.

Google user data we access

When you connect Google Calendar through MeetWing’s OAuth consent screen, MeetWing requests only the read-only scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly. With that permission, MeetWing may access and download calendar metadata and event information from Google calendars you can access — including calendar lists, event titles, start and end times, locations, descriptions, attendee names/emails when present, and related calendar identifiers needed to show upcoming meetings. MeetWing does not request write, edit, share, or delete access to your Google Calendar. Connecting Google is optional; personal reminders work without any Google account.

How we use Google user data

MeetWing uses Google Calendar data solely to provide and improve the user-facing reminder features you enable: fetching upcoming events, displaying them in the MeetWing dashboard and upcoming list, and flying a desktop paper-airplane reminder before those meetings. Google user data is not used for advertising, marketing, creditworthiness, surveillance, selling data, or any purpose unrelated to showing your upcoming meetings in MeetWing. MeetWing does not use Google Workspace APIs (including Google Calendar data obtained via OAuth) to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Storage of Google user data

OAuth tokens and cached calendar/event data from Google are stored locally on your device (for example in the MeetWing app’s local storage or secure OS-backed storage on that computer). MeetWing does not upload Google Calendar contents, event details, or OAuth tokens to shipwithajay servers for reminder delivery, analytics, or backup. Reminder delivery runs on your machine. Optional app-update checks hit a public version feed and do not include Google user data.

Sharing, transfer, and disclosure of Google user data

MeetWing does not sell Google user data. MeetWing does not share, transfer, or disclose Google Calendar data, event contents, or OAuth tokens to third parties for advertising, data brokerage, or independent use. Google user data stays on your device except for: (1) requests MeetWing makes directly to Google’s APIs to read your calendars/events on your behalf after you authorize the app; and (2) disclosures required by law or valid legal process. Calendly is a separate optional connection; Calendly data is governed by Calendly’s terms and is not mixed into Google’s data for third-party sharing. shipwithajay employees or contractors do not receive your Google Calendar contents through MeetWing’s normal operation because that data is not sent to our servers.

Data protection mechanisms

MeetWing protects Google user data with least-privilege OAuth (read-only calendar scope only), local-device storage of tokens and cached events (not a multi-tenant cloud database operated by shipwithajay), transport security (HTTPS/TLS) when communicating with Google’s APIs, and reliance on your device’s OS account protections. You should keep your computer locked, use OS updates, and disconnect Google from MeetWing if the device is shared or compromised. We do not operate a separate MeetWing cloud store of your Google calendars.

Retention and deletion of Google user data

Google user data is retained on your device only while Google Calendar remains connected and only as needed to show upcoming meetings (tokens and a local cache of event data). You can revoke MeetWing’s access at any time by disconnecting Google Calendar inside MeetWing and/or by removing MeetWing’s access in your Google Account security settings (https://myaccount.google.com/permissions). Disconnecting or revoking access stops further Google API access; locally cached Google data and tokens are removed or invalidated according to the app’s disconnect/uninstall flow. Uninstalling MeetWing removes app-local data on that device. We do not retain a server-side copy of your Google Calendar data after you disconnect, because we do not host that data on shipwithajay servers.

Calendly and personal reminders (non-Google)

If you connect Calendly, MeetWing uses Calendly OAuth scopes scheduled_events:read and users:read to list upcoming scheduled events. Calendly Production OAuth returns to https://shipwithajay.com/products/meetwing/oauth/calendly, which hands the authorization code to the MeetWing desktop app. Personal reminders you create (title, note, date/time) are stored only on your device and never require Google. Meeting titles, attendees, tokens, personal reminder notes, and calendar contents are not sent to analytics or third-party marketing tools.

Limited Use compliance

MeetWing’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data obtained via calendar.readonly is used only to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in MeetWing’s interface (upcoming meetings and flight reminders).

Changes to this policy

If how MeetWing accesses, uses, stores, or shares Google user data changes, we will update this page and, where required, notify users and obtain consent before using Google user data in a new way. The current policy is always at https://shipwithajay.com/products/meetwing/privacy.
